The vestibulo-ocular reflex is a brainstem reflex that enables stable visual perception even in the event of sudden head movement. When the head turns, the eyes are moved in the opposite direction at the same speed so that an object can still be fixed. This is achieved by interconnecting the floor passages of the vestibular organ with the nerve nuclei of the eye muscles (nucleus nervi oculomotorii, nucleus nervi trochlearis, nucleus motorius nervi abducentis).
The chip is designed to support this reflex.
